CAVBA is sponsoring a Grass Men's/Women's/Coed 4's Volleyball League on Thursday evenings at Murray Park.

League play will begin on May 15, 2008. The entry fee is $50 per team. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, May 13th. Teams may enter after the deadline if scheduling supports additional teams. A good faith payment of half the entry fee will be required by the first match of the season in order to play. The full fee will be required by the 2nd week of the season or the team's next match if that team has a bye. Play will be open to ages 16 and up.

Players of the age of 16 and 17 must have a parental waiver signed in the presence of a board member in order to play.

Men's/Women's matches will begin at 6:15 PM and co-ed matches will begin at 7:15 PM. A match will consist of 3 games. The first two games will be to 25 and the third game will be to 15. Rules will be consistent with USAV rules which are posted on USAV's website(http://www.usavolleyball.org/RulesOfficials/outdoor.asp). This means that the first ball over, if received in a setting motion (open-handed), must be received cleanly (Rule 13.4.3b) unless the ball is hard driven (Rule 13.4.2a).

Divisions will be determined by the number of team entrants. A tournament will be played at the end of the season to determine the champion. Seeding for the tournament will be determined by the regular season win/loss record. A max of 5 prizes per team will be awarded to the tournament champions. In order to be eligible for tournament play, a player must participate in at least one match during the regular season.

However a player is not tied to a particular team until he/she plays in a match with that team.

Scheduling for the league will be completed (hopefully) by the 2nd week of league play. Submit any scheduling concerns or requests by May 20 to the league directors.

If you wish to participate in the league, but do not have a team, submit your name to the league directors. We can't promise you'll be on a team, but we will do what we can to assist anyone who wishes to play.

All club members are encouraged (STRONGLY) to arrive early to assist in any manner possible in setting up the courts. In addition, all members are also encouraged to remain after to disassemble the courts. This is a club league, and we are raising money for the club. Please keep this in mind.
