Central Arkansas Volleyball Association

[Jan 11, 2008] The Central Arkansas Volleyball Association announces the start of Open Play at Fisher Armory (see map) this Thursday, Jan 17th from 6-10 PM. For those who are new to open play at the Fisher Armory, warm-up is from 6-7 PM. At 7 PM, the total number of players will be counted and teams will be chosen based on the number of players and teams. Play will continue until 10 PM or until there are no longer enough players to play, whichever comes first... Please contact Rob Watson (watsorb@hotmail.com) if you can come out early this Thursday to help lay tape for the lines prior to 6 PM. Open Play is free to members, and $5.00 for non members. The non-member fees are applied to the membership fee for players that decide to join at a later date during the current year.

[Dec 29, 2007] Congratulations to Steve Forbush who has been elected to the CAVBA Board of Directors!

[Feb 12, 2007] The IRAQ war touches home. Allen Shaw and his wife were both volleyball players and friends. Allen's death brings into focus a war we seldom give thought to. The cost of it being paid for in human lives, the lives of friends to many, and their passing will be felt by all who knew them. Please take a moment and say a little prayer for Allen and his family, they need all the support they can get, and he gave all that he had. The family is accepting monetary gifts in lieu of flowers to be sent to the SSG Alan W. Shaw Memorial Fund located at any Metropolitan National Bank in Arkansas.
