[All_CAVBA] CAVBA Members, PLEASE READ!!!

Hello All,
      I am sending this email as a request (or a plea) for some volunteers to serve as a CAVBA board member. I sent an email requesting nominations a while ago and received no responses. This is a member-driven organization and we as members need to step up and become actively involved. If we do not, then the CAVBA may not continue to be as wonderful as it is now and as it has been in the past. 

    We need nominations (you are encouraged to nominate yourself) for someone to replace our friend Gary McClellan as our treasurer (a non-votong position) and we need someone to fill the spot left open when I resign in August (I have been offered and have accepted a job offer in Tampa, FL). The chairman position will be taken over by a current board member, but then someone will need to fill their spot until the next elections in the 4th quarter of this year. 

   Please send me any nominations before the tournament on Saturday. I would like to get the Board members to take action on this item during the tournament. 

Other items:

CAVBA tournament on Saturday July 3, 2010. We will be providing free lunch (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, water, lemonade, etc.) for all players. Additionally, the tournament is FREE to all current members. So, please come prepared to pay your 2010 dues if you haven't already! With the passing of Gary, our records aren't perfect, so we're going to be relying on some honestly from our members. You can look on the "Members" page of our website (http://www.CAVBA.org) to see if we have you as current or not. If there is a deiscrepancy, please let us know- this is based on the most recent list provided to us by Gary.

League games are supposed to start at 6pm. If a team isn't ready to play by 6:10, they forfeit the first game. They forfeit the second game at 6:20. Please get them started as early as you can- our days are getting shorter now and we don't want to have to play coed games in the dark. 

The first people to set up a net get the choice of where they want to play during the league. Set up your net and come get your clipboard asap; don't wait for someone else to grab it, or you'll be playing on a net you'd prefer not to play on. The same thing goes for having your men's/ women's game on the same net as your coed game. If you get there early enough , you can grab both of your team's sheets and put them on one clipboard.
