[All_CAVBA] Garry McClellan; Thursday volleyball; Tournament

Hello All,
     By now you have all heard that our friend and fellow volleyball player (and treasurer of the CAVBA), Garry McClellan has passed away. He was a close friend to most of us and his loss will leave a large hole in the hearts of many. In order to give his many friends from the CAVBA a chance to pay their respects, the CAVBA board of directors has decided to suspend official league play this Thursday (5/27/10). Official league matches will not be held, but someone will be at the park to facilitate open play. If both teams want to be present and play your scheduled games, then I will include them in your team's record. If any teams do not play their games, no forfeits will be awarded. Since playoff seeding will be based on win percentage, this will not have a negative effect (not all teams will have the same number of matches at the end of the season, but that is ok). Many teams have already said that they won't be there, so Thursday may just be
 a pickup day.

    Additionally, the Board meeting that was scheduled for this Friday (5/28/10) has been postponed until next Wednesday (6/2/10). It will be held at 6:30 pm at the Panera Bread location on Cantrell Rd. in Little Rock just west of I-430. 

   Finally, the Memorial Day tournament scheduled for this Saturday is still going to be held. This tournament will serve as a memorial for Garry and all of the money collected will go to a charity in Garry's honor. Sign in will be from 8:30-9:00am with a draw at 9:05 and play beginning at 9:15. We hope that everyone will be able to make it out to this event.
